Spider in the Bath

Each week in Room 9 we have a different poem. We do lots of fun things with them, like finding out new words or hot seating, where we pretend to be a character from the poem and the rest of the class ask the character questions.
This week our poem is Spider in the Bath - which is actually a song. Miss Dippie's Mum taught it to her when she was little. Miss Collins learnt the song on the recorder so that she could play it for us. Here is a video of us singing the song.

2012 cultural festival

Last Thursday all the year 3&4 class's went to the cultural festival all except the kapa haka group who went earlier than the other classes.
First the kapa haka groups lined up in their classes.
Next we got split up into two groups one with Miss Collins and one with Mrs Kahi and we went on two separate buses.
Then we all went to the  CBS  Arena.
We were at the Arena  because we were doing Kapa haka.
Kapa haka is a maori group that peforms maori songs and does poi and movements.
Our Kapa haka group was in the second half of the cultural festival. Sumner school year 3&4 went to watch  us perform.
We felt really nervous and excited!

Calendar Art

We have finished our calendar. It looks fantastic. We were looking at Kandinsky, and his "Squares and Concentric Circles" Artwork.
Come and see it in Room 9. Here is a photopeach of the finished ones.
